The Workshop was officially opened by General Manager Dr. Nicoleta Nemeș (Politehnica University Timișoara), who emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation and the relevance of environmental risk assessment in mining-affected areas.
On behalf of the Serbian team, participants were welcomed by Dr. Daniel Kržanović, Project Coordinator from the Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor. He highlighted the successful collaboration between partner institutions and the significance of the monitoring activities conducted during the summer and autumn campaign.
As part of the professional program, Sanela Vasiljević, a member of the Serbian team, delivered a presentation titled:
“Environmental Risk Assessment from Mining Activities: Insights from Summer Monitoring in the Romania–Serbia Cross-Border Region (ERA-MIN_RO-SRB)”
Her presentation summarized the preliminary findings from water, soil, and air monitoring campaigns carried out in Bor, Negotin, the Porečka River area, Slatina, and Moldova Nouă, including insights into identified pollution parameters and upcoming project activities.
